January is the month for the American Library Association to announce the award-winning books of 2012. Miller Library already has most of the winning titles in the collection! Check these out if you want to see what was considered to be the best of the best for the past year.

Newbery John Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children’s literature

CU Library Network Expands

Last week, Kuyper College’s Zondervan Library joined our growing “Cornerstone University Library Network” (CULN). Along with the Puritan Seminary Library (PRTS), the three combined libraries share an online catalog (eaglelink.cornerstone.edu) and reciprocal borrowing privileges. We welcome our new partner, and invite Cornerstone students to pay a visit to these two affiliate libraries, even as we invite Kuyper and PRTS students to visit and borrow from the resources here at Miller Library! Just as 3 years ago, our neighbor across the street, Puritan Seminary, partnered with us to share its library through our online catalog, Kuyper’s Zondervan Library will do the same beginning in January. Students, faculty, and staff will have reciprocal borrowing privileges, and be able to see what each library has available (though this does not include access to databases or other e-resources). Welcome, Kuyper College!

Another Late Night Thriller at Miller Library

Some 315 students showed up to take advantage of Late Night study groups, snacks, door prizes, and finals prep, hoping perhaps to catch a glimpse of a rumored Flash Mob doing Thriller. LibraryPrize 2011 Underway!

LibraryPrize 2011 is up and voting has started. Here’s what you do.

1) Go to Miller Library anytime today through 5:00 PM Friday, Nov. 11th.
2) Look at all the exhibits, pick up a map at the library or download one here.
3) Look at all the exhibits again, converse with your friends.
4) Vote.

Voting is done online through SurveyMonkey here: http://tinyurl.com/3e6pw69. You may change your vote, but can only vote once. Voting is limited to the Cornerstone University campus IP address, one vote per,computer, and ends at 5:00 PM Friday, November 11th.
